Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures with precision and care
• Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards
• Perform accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments before, during, and after procedures
• Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any issues promptly
• Document procedure details and maintain clear communication with the perioperative team

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or ORT credential preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the operating room (explicit requirement)
• Familiarity with standard OR procedures and sterile technique
• Ability to work a 12-hour day shift and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating room workflow and instrumentation
• Sterile technique and infection control practices
• Instrument and sponge counting procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-pressure environments
• Basic troubleshooting of OR equipment
