Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room and necessary instrumentation for procedures
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies in a timely, anticipatory manner
• Maintain strict sterile technique to protect patient safety
• Participate in trauma, orthopedic, vascular, and general surgery cases with focus and precision
• Perform surgical counts and assist with equipment setup and breakdown
• Respond to assigned call shifts and support emergent cases as needed
• Document care and communicate effectively with the surgical team and perioperative staff

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• NBSTSA credential or certification pathway (listed as preferred/required)
• Experience working as an OR tech or surgical technologist in acute care settings is a plus
• Comfort with trauma, ortho, vascular, and general surgical case types
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and assigned call

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of sterile field principles and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly under pressure
• Familiarity with perioperative workflow and OR safety protocols
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and situational awareness
• Comfort with varied case mix including trauma and specialty surgeries
