Surgical Technician - CST (Ortho/Neuro)

Location: Kearney, NE

Start Date: 06-17-2026

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start, 8 or 10-hour shifts, with call requirements: one weeknight per week (until 7:00 AM next morning), three weekend days per month (24-hour shifts), and holidays as needed. Call response time: 15 minutes.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform surgical assisting and maintain sterile technique during procedures
Provide direct patient care and ensure safety in the operating room
Assist in cranial procedures and orthopedic trauma surgeries independently
Utilize advanced surgical technologies like Da Vinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis
Respond promptly to emergency and on-call situations within 15 minutes
Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia team for optimal patient outcomes
Float to support sterile processing when the OR is less busy

Qualifications

Current BLS certification required
CST certification preferred but not required
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent surgical tech experience
Proven experience in orthopedic trauma, total joint, and cranial/neuro surgeries
Ability to independently scrub and perform cranial procedures
Experience with Da Vinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis preferred
Strong sterile technique and commitment to patient safety

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments
Understanding of surgical anatomy for ortho and neuro procedures
Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
Skills in robotic surgery support
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to patient safety and a positive attitude
