Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients transitioning from ICU
- Monitor critical patients with advanced cardiac and neurological needs
- Collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
- Administer medications and interventions per physician orders
- Educate patients and families on recovery plans and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kansas or compact state (Nursys verification required)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- DCI/BVP certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience
- Ability to pass Prime Health screening exams (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, etc.)
- Must be fully vaccinated per facility requirements (COVID-19, MMR, etc.)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring
- Experience with ventilators, IV drips, and telemetry
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Adaptability to fast-paced, high-acuity environments
