Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on meaningful functional outcomes
Perform dysphagia evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility standards
Collaborate with PTs, OTs, nursing staff, and physicians to coordinate resident care

Qualifications

Active California SLP license (required)
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred but not required
Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

Education

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and safe swallowing recommendations
Experience with assessment and treatment of speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders
Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and compliance in long-term care
Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
Sound clinical reasoning and individualized treatment planning
