Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and create individualized treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders
• Deliver evidence-based speech, language and dysphagia interventions with empathy and clinical excellence
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists and family members to ensure coordinated care and meaningful outcomes
• Document progress clearly and timely, using facility systems to support continuity of care
• Provide training and education to caregivers and staff to maximize functional gains and safety
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to optimize patient transitions and follow-up

Qualifications

• Active California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain one
• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or eligible
• Clinical experience in adult/geriatric rehab, skilled nursing or inpatient therapy settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Clear background check, TB screening and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for speech, language and swallowing disorders
• Comfortable with dysphagia management and modified barium swallow recommendations
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Skilled in documentation, goal writing and outcome tracking
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to varied patient needs and cognitive levels
