Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based speech and language assessments to evaluate communication needs
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that drive measurable progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, OT, nursing, and family members
• Document clinical findings, progress, and discharge planning in a timely, professional manner
• Deliver dysphagia screenings and manage safe swallowing programs as appropriate
• Educate patients, families, and staff to support carryover and maximize outcomes

Qualifications

• Current state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist, or ability to obtain California licensure promptly
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience working with adult/rehabilitation populations, including dysphagia management
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Active professional liability insurance or ability to obtain coverage for travel assignments

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
• Proficient with individualized treatment planning and measurable goal-setting
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
• Comfortable using electronic health records for documentation
• Excellent communication and patient education skills, with a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehab team
