Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical and delivery team by preparing and maintaining a sterile field in the operating room and labor & delivery suite
• Set up instrumentation and supplies for cesarean deliveries and OB procedures with precision and speed
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures to keep cases efficient and safe
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols
• Support patient comfort and dignity during perioperative and delivery care
• Accurately document instrument counts and case details to ensure safety and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Scrub Tech, with hands-on OR and labor & delivery exposure
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification; ACLS or NRP as preferred or required by facility
• Surgical Technologist certification (CST) or ability to obtain/verify per facility policy preferred
• Strong familiarity with obstetric instrumentation and cesarean procedure workflow
• Ability to pass facility credentialing and background checks for travel assignments

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in sterile technique and instrument handling
• Knowledge of labor & delivery and obstetric surgical procedures
• Proficient in OR setup, instrument counts, and case turnover
• Good communication and teamwork skills in high-stakes environments
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
• Familiarity with perioperative documentation and safety protocols
