Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care during the assigned shift
• Perform patient assessments and prioritize care needs quickly and accurately
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and policies
• Document care thoroughly and communicate changes in patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student and community health
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and preventive care
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and compliance with facility protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligible to practice in CA)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional certifications a plus
• Experience in school health, community health, pediatrics, or ambulatory nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently on per diem assignments
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and care planning
• Comfortable with medication administration and documentation systems
• Knowledge of school health protocols and pediatric care principles
• Able to communicate clearly with students, families, and healthcare teams
• Proficient in electronic health record documentation and basic computer use
• Strong time management and organizational abilities for fast-paced shifts
