Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a med-surg/oncology unit
• Administer medications and infusions safely and accurately, following facility protocols (chemo certification preferred)
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, intervening quickly when concerns arise
• Document all care and clinical findings clearly and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, HUCs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
• Support patients through procedures and occasional specialty tasks (pelvic exams, echo assistance, thoracentesis)
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, infection control and unit safety standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with chemo experience highly considered)
• Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
• Comfort working night shifts and scheduled weekends; strong teamwork and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing principles and patient-centered cancer care
• Infusion/chemotherapy knowledge and safe medication administration
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience with post-operative/women’s surgical care
• Ability to manage 1:4–1:5 patient ratios and prioritize effectively
• Clear communication and collaborative team approach
