Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate CVICU nursing care for post-op and critically ill cardiac patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor hemodynamic status continuously
• Administer medications and titrate therapies according to provider orders and protocols
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Document care accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly to the care team
• Support patient and family education and provide clear updates during recovery

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to practice in Texas or via compact privileges)
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU or critical care nursing experience (as listed in posting)
• Current basic life support (BLS) — (verify facility requirements upon application)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience managing cardiac/critical care patients
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and integrate into a fast-paced CVICU team

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth CVICU and critical care nursing knowledge
• Cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment familiarity
• Medication administration and IV/infusion experience in ICU settings
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and clinicians
• Teamwork, prioritization, and the ability to respond quickly to changes
