Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across acuity levels with compassion and clinical excellence
• Assess, initiate, and manage ventilator support and weaning protocols
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to guide therapy
• Deliver aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-specific care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and promptly
• Participate in patient/family education regarding respiratory care and home support needs

Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) required
• Active or eligible for state respiratory care licensure in Georgia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Experience with oxygen delivery systems, aerosol therapy, and airway management
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Comfortable using EMR systems and following facility protocols
• Ability to teach and support patients and families during care transitions
