Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous respiratory care as the solo RT on shift across ED, ICU, Med/Surg, OB and swing-bed services
• Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation including ventilator setup, troubleshooting and weaning
• Perform advanced airway management including direct intubation, intubation assist and extubation
• Deliver neonatal and pediatric respiratory support including assistance at high-risk deliveries
• Administer respiratory medications and specialized therapies such as inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide and nebulized treatments
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and interpret ABGs to guide patient treatment plans
• Care for tracheostomies and manage suctioning (ETT, NT) and other airway devices
• Document care accurately in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience required (first-time travelers considered if they meet experience requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS required
• Oregon state license preferred/valid (licensure assistance available)
• Charting experience with Epic required
• Trauma Level I experience required; Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management on Draeger and Hamilton ventilators and familiarity with Puritan Bennett, LTV and Respironics

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP and NIV management
• Airway management: direct intubation, intubation assist, suctioning and tracheostomy care
• ABG interpretation and basic EKG knowledge
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and oxygen therapy devices
• Pulmonary Function Testing including spirometry and diffusion testing
• Familiarity with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring and O2 saturation interpretation
• Experience with ECMO, bronchoscopy and ARDS care (preferred)
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory conditions and equipment
