Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms to identify changes in patient condition
• Perform focused and head-to-toe assessments, document findings clearly in the chart
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, following hospital protocols
• Respond promptly to clinical alarms and escalate concerns to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning to support recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives and promote patient safety

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (North Carolina license or multi-state compact RN licensure recommended)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care nursing experience (telemetry preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to a new facility and integrate into the team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• IV medication administration and infusion pump management
• Acute patient assessment and deterioration recognition
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation best practices
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and handoff reporting
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced acute care setting
