Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend and one summer plus one winter holiday required, standby call required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care
Start and maintain IVs while monitoring tiny patients with precision
Transfer infants to higher levels of care when needed, ensuring seamless transitions
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments, caring for up to three mother-baby couplets when the nursery is quiet
Titrate drips such as D5W and TPN to support growing newborns
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance for critical access
Provide Bubble CPAP and Hi-Flow support to babies with respiratory needs

Qualifications

Active Washington RN license or compact license
NRP and BLS certifications required
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Proficient with IV starts, Bubble CPAP, Hi-Flow, and umbilical line assistance
Comfortable floating between SCN and postpartum assignments

Knowledge & Skills

Level 2 NICU experience preferred
Postpartum couplet care experience preferred
Strong assessment skills for phototherapy, hypoglycemia, and NOW babies
Ability to recognize and respond to sepsis and respiratory distress
Team player ready to support a close-knit LDRP unit
