Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive cardiac care to stepdown patients, including post-CV and vascular surgery cases
• Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and infusion drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, milrinone, etc.) with precision
• Manage epidurals, chest tubes and tube feedings and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to maintain continuity and safety
• Teach and support patients and families through recovery milestones with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (must be eligible to practice in NC)
• ACLS and BLS required (current certifications)
• Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience, with stepdown/telemetry experience required
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience within the last year is strongly preferred
• Comfortable managing cardiac gtt infusions, epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings and IV glucose management
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Able to work a 1:5 patient ratio and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Stepdown and telemetry patient management
• Cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip (gtt) management
• Epidural and chest tube care
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Strong assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
• Teamwork, flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit
