Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for progressive care unit patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor telemetry and critical patient parameters closely and intervene promptly when needed
• Perform thorough assessments, prioritize care, and implement nursing interventions safely
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and document treatments in the chart
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Contribute to unit safety and quality initiatives through accurate documentation and reporting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a valid RN compact license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU, progressive care, or telemetry experience preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with the care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and recognizing arrhythmias and hemodynamic changes
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and post-procedure monitoring
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Ability to triage, escalate concerns, and follow evidence-based protocols
