Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct and indirect nursing care to post-acute, long-term, and rehabilitation residents
• Deliver IV therapy and expert wound care with attention to healing and comfort
• Perform geriatric assessments and contribute to individualized care planning
• Support residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia using tailored verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with families and care partners
• Float between units (rehab, long-term care, dementia unit) and adapt to changing patient needs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold quality and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (State of Maine or compact) — required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent nursing education
• 1-3 years of RN clinical experience preferred in post-acute, long-term care, rehab, or similar settings
• Comfortable providing IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and flexibility to support 24/7 coverage
• Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical terminology and clinical assessment skills
• IV therapy and infusion management
• Advanced wound care techniques
• Geriatric assessment and management
• Alzheimer’s/Dementia behavior recognition and de-escalation
• Rehabilitation nursing principles and transitional care
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication abilities
