Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to patient changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control and regulatory compliance on every shift

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain Texas state licensure required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience (as listed in job data)
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or acute care/telemetry experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged where applicable
• Current CPR certification and comfort with cardiac monitoring and titratable drips
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• IV medication administration and titration experience
• Patient assessment and triage for intermediate acuity patients
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Time management, prioritization and crisis resource management
