Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients during overnight coverage
• Assess patient condition continuously and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient needs and transitions
• Document care, assessments, and communications accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact RN eligible)
• Experience or training with MST (Mobile/Specialty Team) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts and managing acute issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on per diem shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and escalate when needed
• Team collaboration and clear handoff communication
