Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Med/Surg and post-op spine/orthopedics patients during night shifts
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor post-operative recovery, intervening and escalating when needed
• Collaborate closely with ED and surgical teams to ensure safe handoffs and continuity of care
• Administer medications, document care accurately, and adhere to ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC protocols
• Maintain infection control and COVID-19 vaccination compliance per state mandate
• Educate patients and families about post-op care, discharge planning, and recovery expectations

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license (required)
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (required)
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing and Emergency Department care
• Spine/Orthopedics post-operative patient experience required
• Willingness to work night shifts and holidays
• COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with state requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical assessment and post-op care skills
• Emergency Department triage and acute care experience
• Familiarity with spine/orthopedics post-operative protocols and patient needs
• Ability to manage a 1:5 patient assignment safely and effectively
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities
