Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
• Perform admissions, assessments, and bedside shift report to ensure continuity of care
• Administer medications, manage IVs and PCA devices safely and accurately
• Deliver basic wound care and maintain surgical drains, chest tubes and nasogastric tubes as needed
• Monitor telemetry and EKG strips, recognize changes and escalate appropriately
• Document thoroughly in Meditech and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment to keep patients safe and supported

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-appropriate) — required
• Current BLS certification — required
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with IV insertion, basic wound care and monitoring chest tubes/NG tubes
• Experience using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Strong prioritization and multitasking skills; excellent patient communication

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing best practices and neuro patient care
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation basics
• IV insertion, PCA and feeding pump management
• Use of bladder scanner, continuous pulse ox and bedside monitoring equipment
• Competency with Meditech documentation and iMobile communication tools
• Ability to deliver compassionate bedside shift report and family-centered care
