Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in Labor & Delivery, supporting safe vaginal and cesarean births
• Perform advanced fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to guide clinical decisions
• Deliver immediate newborn care including resuscitation and stabilizing per NRP guidelines
• Collaborate with OB/GYN, anesthesiology, neonatal and support teams to coordinate complex, high-risk cases
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Cerner EMR
• Operate and manage unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and Phillips fetal monitors safely and effectively
• Maintain appropriate patient assignments and advocate for optimal patient-to-nurse ratios (1:1, 1:2)
• Provide compassionate education and emotional support to laboring patients and their families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the U.S.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and immediate newborn care
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and familiar with electronic fetal monitoring systems
• Preferred: circulating experience in L&D settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and labor management skills
• Proficient in advanced fetal monitoring interpretation
• Skilled in immediate newborn stabilization and NRP protocols
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR charting and documentation best practices
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and Phillips fetal monitoring equipment
• Excellent communication, teamwork and adaptability in fast-paced settings
