Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being continuously using C-EFM and clinical assessment
• Administer medications safely and document care thoroughly
• Coach and support patients through labor, using evidence-based techniques
• Assist the delivery team during births and provide immediate newborn care as the baby RN
• Provide postpartum care and education to families for confident newborn caregiving
• Function effectively in the OR setting when cesarean or surgical support is needed
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Complete required Trinity competency checklists and specialty-specific testing

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (license verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, C-EFM
• Comfortable serving as baby RN and providing special care nursery support
• OR exposure/experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend rotations
• Completion of Trinity skills checklist, specialty competency testing, drug screen and required health screenings/vaccinations

Knowledge & Skills

• Maternal and fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Intrapartum nursing and delivery assistance
• Postpartum care and newborn assessment
• Medication administration and documentation
• Patient education and coaching through labor and early parenting
• Familiarity with LDRP model and special care nursery processes
• Ability to work in OR environment and act as baby RN when needed
