Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic and ventilator parameters to guide treatment
• Administer medications and advanced interventions according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between units as needed while maintaining unit standards of care
• Perform thorough documentation and complete required skills and competency exams
• Participate in shift handoffs and educate patients and families with compassion

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to meet Nursys requirements) for practice in California
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in required credentials
• Demonstrated ICU / critical care nursing experience
• Ability to float between units and work weekend schedules
• Per Diem availability for the duration of the 26-week assignment
• Willingness to complete required compliance profile and screenings within the required timeframe
• Able to pass health requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing, drug screen and other site-specific screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for critically ill patients and experience with ventilator management
• Proficiency with telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care pharmacology
• Comfortable with emergency response and advanced cardiac life support interventions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Accurate electronic charting and documentation skills
• Adaptability to float between units and manage changing patient acuity
