Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered ICU nursing care for critically ill patients on the NVICU unit
• Monitor hemodynamics and manage invasive lines including central lines and arterial (A-line) monitoring
• Assist with and manage airway interventions, including intubation support and post-intubation care
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex patient care and transfers
• Respond to emergencies with excellent critical thinking and evidence-based interventions
• Float across critical care areas (All ICUs, BMT, PCU floors) as needed to support patient demand

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (NVICU/critical care experience preferred)
• Comfortable with and experienced in caring for patients requiring central line/A-line management and intubation support
• Ability to work night shifts and at least 4 weekends per schedule period
• Willingness to float to other critical care areas such as BMT and PCU floors
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred; oncology or neuro ICU experience a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ICU clinical assessment and monitoring skills
• Proficiency with invasive line care (central line, arterial line) and ventilator/airway management
• Experience using Meditech EMR (electronic charting and documentation)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 2:1 patient ratio ICU environment
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and accountability under pressure
• Familiarity with standard ICU equipment and critical care protocols
