Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (rotating nights). Schedule requires at least 4 weekends per schedule period; night coverage on the NVICU (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to NVICU patients, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio in many cases
• Perform and assist with critical care procedures such as central line and arterial line placement and intubation
• Care for patients with EVDs and coordinate with core staff for specialized needs
• Monitor hemodynamics and manage vasoactive infusions and advanced ICU equipment
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families, and advocate for safe, compassionate care
• Support unit staffing and provide reliable weekend/night coverage as scheduled

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid in the state of assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (NVICU/critical care experience required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Comfortable with EMR documentation in Meditech (preferred)
• Experience with oncology and neuro patients is a plus
• Demonstrated skill with central line, arterial line, intubation, and EVD care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Proficiency with ICU equipment and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Ability to perform/assist with invasive procedures common to an ICU
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and accountability
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong clinical judgement
