Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients of all ages, acting quickly and confidently in urgent situations
• Perform thorough triage, assessment, and monitoring to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to implement treatment plans
• Administer medications and interventions safely, documenting care accurately in EPIC
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and disposition plans with compassion
• Participate in unit-based process improvement and maintain required certifications and competencies

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure must be valid for Wyoming assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience treating all ages and a wide range of conditions
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
• Strong critical thinking, triage skills, and the ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small, critical-access ED setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage across the lifespan
• Acute care interventions, airway management, and cardiac monitoring
• Pediatric emergency care principles (PALS-skilled)
• Trauma assessment and initial stabilization (TNCC principles)
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Effective communication, teamwork, and patient/family education
