Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population with compassion and clinical excellence
• Lead and participate in trauma and resuscitation events appropriate to a Level 2 trauma center
• Perform timely stroke assessments (NIHSS) and help activate stroke protocols in a comprehensive stroke center
• Triage, prioritize, and manage patient care flow in a fast-paced ED environment
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, Baxter infusion pumps, GE monitoring systems, and other ED equipment safely
• Coach and mentor teammates in real time, providing constructive feedback to elevate unit performance
• Champion patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, keeping boards and patients updated) throughout each visit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (must be in good standing)
• Minimum 2 years' nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC completion required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and give feedback in real time
• Flexibility to float within all areas of the ED and work every-other-weekend as scheduled
• Previous HCA experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient use of Cerner documentation system
• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Trauma and resuscitation management
• Stroke assessment (NIHSS) and stroke care workflows
• Cardiac monitoring and infusion pump (Baxter) operation
• Comfort working in a high-volume, multicultural ED environment
• Strong communication, teaching, and bedside coaching skills
• Patient experience practices including AIDET and respectful patient updates
