Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, nights: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care for patients with cardiac and vascular conditions, including those downgraded from CVICU
Titrate and manage drips such as amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and others for blood pressure management
Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, collaborating with remote tele techs as needed
Support the thoracic program, EP lab, cath lab, and structural heart patients
Float to units of the same or lower acuity as needed
Participate in an open-book orientation exam to ensure readiness (passing score of 90%)

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
At least 1 year of experience with this patient population
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Valid driver's license (required for submittal to verify radius rule)
Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Titrating cardiac drips and managing blood pressure medications
Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Caring for patients with CHF, a fib RVR, CVAs, and post-cardiac procedures
Working in a fast-paced intermediate care environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
