Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac stepdown patients with vigilance — interpret telemetry, trends, and subtle changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Perform thorough assessments and prioritize care to keep patients stable and progressing
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to create and execute care plans
• Respond decisively to emergencies and escalate appropriately to protect patient safety
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record and complete Trinity-specific competency checklists
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be verifiable) — state license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications listed in the file; completion expected prior to start
• Experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care preferred
• Ability to complete facility-specific competency testing and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Skilled clinical assessment and prioritization in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation practices
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills validation
