Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to oncology and BMT patients in a 10-bed ICU, delivering compassionate, high-quality care
• Manage ventilators and BiPAP, ensuring optimal respiratory support and timely adjustments
• Titrate drips safely and accurately to maintain hemodynamic stability
• Perform tracheostomy care and total care of critically ill patients including turning and dressing changes
• Operate and monitor CRRT and A-line therapies when required
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate clear handoffs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and families to advocate for patients
• Adhere to unit policies, maintain patient ratios (typically 2:1), and contribute to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (strong ICU experience required)
• Experience with ventilator management, titrating drips, and caring for BiPAP patients
• CRRT experience preferred
• Transplant experience (kidney, pancreas, liver) preferred
• Comfort working in an oncology/BMT ICU setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator and BiPAP management
• Titration of vasoactive drips and pump management
• CRRT operation and monitoring
• Tracheostomy care and wound/dressing management
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• A-line management, IV pumps, and hemodynamic monitoring (FloTrac)
• Ability to manage 2:1 patient ratios in a high-acuity environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with physicians and staff
