Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, total care for critically ill BMT/oncology ICU patients — turning, dressing changes, trach care and more
• Manage ventilated and BiPAP patients, including ventilator adjustments in collaboration with respiratory therapy and physicians
• Titrate drips safely and accurately, following unit protocols and physician orders
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment: CRRT, A-lines, Flow-track, IV pumps and ventilators
• Perform and document assessments, interventions and patient responses in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, RTs, pharmacists) to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratios and prioritize critical tasks during high-acuity periods
• Support unit continuity by floating to other ICUs, PCU, and BMT areas as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice where assignment is located)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (strong ICU background required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, titrating drips, tracheostomy care and total care of critically ill patients
• CRRT experience and transplant experience (kidney, pancreas, liver) are preferred
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR and common ICU technology (A-line, IV pumps, Flow-track)

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing fundamentals and critical care assessment
• Ventilator management and BiPAP patient care
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning best practices
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) basics
• Invasive monitoring (A-line) and IV pump management
• Familiarity with Flow-track hemodynamic monitoring
• Documentation and workflow within Meditech EMR
