Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with compassion and attention to detail
• Conduct interview-based clinical exams and targeted physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Document clinical findings clearly and produce timely, professional medical reports
• Prepare addendums, medical opinions, and interpret diagnostic information as needed
• Follow quick credentialing and onboarding processes so Veterans receive timely evaluations
• Coordinate with clinic staff and the VES team to ensure exams are completed and reports submitted per process

Qualifications

• MD or DO (physician-level license required)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state(s) where you will practice or willingness to obtain local licensure
• Acceptable specialties include family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with relevant experience
• Experience or comfort performing Compensation & Pension (C&P) or other non-treatment/forensic style exams is strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills, including report writing and completion of addendums
• Ability to work independently in a clinic or your own office and to be within a 50-mile radius of assignment locations

Education

• MD or DO (Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and interview-based exam techniques
• Range of motion testing and muscle strength testing
• Thorough documentation and medical reporting skills
• Comfort with non-treatment/forensic exams and separation health assessments
• Ability to generate medical opinions and complete addendums
• Familiarity with office-based exam workflows and per diem clinic logistics
