Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and separation health assessments with compassion and thoroughness
• Perform interview-based clinical evaluations and targeted physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Document clear, timely exam reports and complete any required addendums or medical opinions
• Adhere to exam protocols — no prescribing or treatment; focus on objective assessment and reporting
• Coordinate with administrative teams for scheduling, credentialing, and timely submission of required documentation
• Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and veteran-centered communication throughout the evaluation process

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree) in good standing
• Active medical license in the state(s) where exams will be performed (TX licensure expected for local assignments)
• Clinical background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
• Experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or separation health assessments is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with interview-based examinations and basic physical testing (range of motion, muscle strength)
• Ability to complete required training and onboarding prior to starting assignments
• Willingness to work within a 50-mile radius of the assigned location or to see Veterans in your own office if participating in the provider-office option

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree)

• Strong medical documentation and report-writing abilities
• Familiarity with standards for non-treatment forensic-style examinations

• Comfort with rapid onboarding and adherence to client-specific protocols
