Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based care
• Document patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes thoroughly and in a timely manner in the EMR
• Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions across the care continuum
• Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, and emergency physicians
• Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations
• Manage ventilated patients in partnership with respiratory therapy and specialty backup
• Participate in clinical rounds, interdisciplinary meetings, hospital committees, and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care in a compassionate, clear manner
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and medical ethics

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (Hospitalist experience preferred)
• Board certification or eligibility noted as part of consideration
• Comfortable with ventilator management and responding to codes/rapid responses
• Proven ability to document thoroughly in an EMR and communicate effectively with care teams
• Willingness to participate in interdisciplinary rounds, committees, and quality initiatives
• Must be willing/able to work on-site in the Brattleboro area (not open to candidates who commute more than 1 hour)
• J-1 visa candidates accepted only (J-1 sponsorship support available)
• Not open to LOCUM or LOCUM-to-PERM candidates; position must be primary employment and not combined with another role
