Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist therapists in delivering patient-centered care through therapeutic exercises and functional training
• Implement individualized treatment plans under a licensed physical therapist's direction
• Monitor and document patient progress, updating care teams with timely notes
• Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance, prioritizing patient dignity and independence
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize rehabilitation outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Massachusetts (required)
• Completion of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree or diploma)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain quickly)
• Previous experience in inpatient or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mobility aids
• Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and treatment plan implementation
• Comfortable working with geriatric and post-acute rehab populations
• Team-oriented approach and good clinical reasoning
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation preferred
