Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify medications accurately and efficiently for inpatient care
• Review medication orders for appropriateness, dosing and interactions to protect patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and the care team to optimize medication therapy
• Perform medication reconciliation and document clinical interventions clearly
• Provide patient counseling and education about medications and safe use
• Participate in pharmacy operational tasks including inventory management and controlled substance handling
• Support medication-use policy, formulary management and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license in Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure promptly
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (clinical or hospital pharmacy preferred)
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or equivalent pharmacy degree
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred; BS in Pharmacy or equivalent accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of medication safety principles and dosing guidelines
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy workflows and automated dispensing systems
• Ability to interpret medication orders and identify drug interactions
• Skilled in patient counseling and interprofessional collaboration
• Comfortable with pharmacy documentation and quality improvement processes
