Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications and perform medication verification during the night shift to keep patients safe
• Dose and manage vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant therapies with clinical accuracy
• Compound and verify sterile IVs using Dose Edge, ensuring sterile technique and documentation
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, oversee Pyxis checks, and coordinate first-dose verification
• Respond to emergency medication requests and manage emergency med boxes promptly
• Collaborate with inpatient care teams on pain consults and medication-related clinical decisions
• Document interventions and orders in the Meditech EMR to maintain continuity and compliance

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — active license required
• Pharmacist licensure and current, in-good-standing credentials
• Minimum 1 year of hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with sterile compounding and Dose Edge verification
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NICU experience a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical dosing expertise: vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants
• Sterile compounding processes and verification workflows
• Medication verification and unit dose/Pyxis workflows
• Hands-on experience with Dose Edge, Pyxis and Pak Edge systems
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR documentation
• Strong supervisory skills for leading pharmacy technicians
• Clear communication, teamwork, and attention to detail in a 285-bed inpatient setting
