Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 24 hours on, 24 hours on call (10 minutes response), 96 hours off

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide professional and compassionate care to patients of all ages in pre-hospital and hospital settings
Perform thorough patient assessments and take appropriate action according to treatment guidelines
Administer medications utilizing the five patient rights and standing operating procedures
Document assessments and treatments accurately and in a timely manner
Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments and ensure smooth transfer of care
Supervise EMTs and ensure safety of staff and bystanders during emergency responses
Adjust workload as needed and communicate staffing needs to supervisors
Respond to 911 calls and perform interfacility transfers with ALS level care

Qualifications

Active Paramedic License required
NREMT-P certification
ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
Must have Minnesota license
Must have either ND license or compact license with proof of privilege to practice
ALS level of care experience
Preferred intubation experience

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Patient assessment and treatment
Medication administration
Documentation and charting
Equipment operation including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
Titration of drips including nitroglycerin, heparin, IV fluids, and vasopressors
