Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy evaluations to identify patient needs
• Develop and implement individualized OT plans focused on upper extremity orthopedics and neurological recovery
• Document evaluations, progress notes, 10/30s, and discharge notes accurately in Meditech
• Use therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and infrared as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and safe discharges
• Provide timely progress reports and communicate clear recommendations to nursing and rehab staff
• Support continuity of care by typing clear, professional documentation so permanent staff can pick up seamlessly

Qualifications

• OT degree with active Florida occupational therapy license (required)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical OT experience (inpatient and/or outpatient preferred)
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Comfortable performing inpatient and outpatient evaluations, typing detailed reports, and working independently
• Travel experience is a plus and adaptability to a fast-paced unit is appreciated

Education

• Occupational Therapy degree required, Florida licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in inpatient and outpatient evaluations and intervention planning
• Experience with Meditech documentation workflows
• Familiarity with electrical stimulation (Estim), ultrasound, and infrared therapy
• Knowledge of upper extremity orthopedics and neurologic rehab principles
• Strong clinical documentation and report-typing skills
• Good prioritization and teamwork in a unit with patient ratios around 7-10
