Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality general dentistry care to patients, including exams, diagnostics, restorations, and extractions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that improve oral health outcomes
• Manage patient records, document clinical findings, and ensure compliance with policies
• Coordinate care with the correctional healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain clinical equipment and supplies
• Participate in orientation activities and contribute to a professional, respectful care environment

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
• Active or eligible California dental license, or ability to obtain state licensure
• Comfort working in a correctional healthcare environment and following facility security protocols
• Strong clinical skills in restorative dentistry, extractions, and preventive care
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability to pass background checks and any required pre-employment screenings

Education

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in general dentistry procedures and treatment planning
• Knowledge of infection control, OSHA, and dental safety standards
• Good communication skills for working with diverse patient populations
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and use electronic health records
• Team-oriented mindset and collaboration with ancillary healthcare staff
• Adaptability to work within structured correctional facility schedules and protocols
