Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform blood bank testing and transfusion-related procedures accurately and promptly
• Conduct type and screen, crossmatch, antibody identification and other blood bank assays
• Maintain strict quality control, documentation, and compliance with lab standards
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to support safe transfusion practices
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and the lab information system (Meditech experience is a plus)
• Float between College Station and Bryan campuses as needed to support patient care
• Support acute care needs in a fast-paced hospital environment while prioritizing patient safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Medical Technologist (MT)
• Blood Bank experience REQUIRED, both basic and advanced skills
• ASCP or AMT certification required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to float between College Station and Bryan campuses
• No phlebotomy required

Education

• ASCP or AMT certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of blood bank principles, transfusion medicine, and immunohematology
• Skilled in quality control, documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems, Meditech preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in testing and recordkeeping
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with clinical staff
• Dependability for night shifts and 7 on / 7 off scheduling
