Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols
• Ensure accurate patient positioning and optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles
• Review physician orders and coordinate imaging exams with radiologists and other imaging modalities
• Track and retrieve prior mammography images for comparison to support accurate interpretation
• Provide compassionate patient education on breast health and self-exam techniques
• Support Bone Density exams and assist with CT, general X-ray, and fluoroscopy/OR procedures as needed
• Serve as a technical resource for breast imaging, quality control, and equipment operation
• Participate in departmental committees and community outreach to promote mammography services
• Take call as assigned and perform other duties to ensure patient-centered care

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in Radiography and ARRT registration in Mammography
• Active California Radiologic Technologist License
• Active California Mammographic Technologist License
• Active California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
• California Venipuncture Certificate required within 3 months of hire
• Minimum of 5 years of mammography technologist experience
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, assist with positioning and equipment handling

• Screening and diagnostic mammography techniques and breast imaging best practices
• ALARA radiation safety principles and image quality optimization
• Positioning, radiographic principles, and quality control procedures
• Fluoroscopy, general X-ray, CT assistance, and Bone Density exam support
• Patient education, advocacy, and care coordination across the lifespan
• Equipment operation, maintenance basics, and prior image retrieval
• Interdisciplinary coordination with radiologists and imaging teams
