Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Assess patient status and report changes to the care team promptly
- Document care, observations, and communication clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Support patient comfort and dignity while promoting independence
Qualifications
- Current, active New York LPN license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings a plus
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively within a team
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN program or equivalent credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic nursing assessments and care planning
- Infection control and safe patient handling
- Electronic health record documentation or charting familiarity
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
