Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care during the night shift for assigned patients
• Perform assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Support patient and family education, answering questions with empathy and clarity
• Respond to emergencies and execute appropriate interventions per policy
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record
• Promote a positive and professional environment that prioritizes patient safety

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse) in New Mexico or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred for certain roles
• Clinical experience in acute care or relevant specialty preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on night shift
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide compassionate care

Education

• LPN: Certificate or Diploma in Practical Nursing
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medication administration and IV/central line care (as applicable to licensure)
• Assessment skills for stable and acute patients, including vital signs and neurological checks
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to manage common inpatient procedures and effective patient handoffs
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols
