Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to long-term care residents using your LPN scope of practice
• Perform thorough documentation and maintain patient records with accuracy and timeliness
• Operate and monitor medical equipment such as Dynamapp, Datascope, thermometers, and pulse oximeters
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Deliver culturally respectful care and communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Participate in unit committees and professional activities to improve care delivery
• Maintain required competencies, complete IV procedures when certified, and uphold safety standards

Qualifications

• Current Alaska LPN license in good standing
• Current CPR/BCLS certification required
• IV certification course completion required or willingness to complete
• New graduates accepted; 1 year hospital or long-term care experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to facility scheduling needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-cultural settings

Education

• Graduate from an LPN/LVN school

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient care and long-term care nursing practices
• Comfortable with medical devices: Dynamapp, Datascope, pulse oximetry and thermometers
• Proficient with office equipment and documentation tools (computer, multi-line phone, fax)
• Good mathematical and reasoning skills for medication calculations and care planning
• Ability to read, analyze, and write reports and professional correspondence
• Effective cross-cultural communication and teamwork
