Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with direct nursing care in OB/L&D — step into a hands-on role that makes a real difference for patients and families
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instrumentation for labor and delivery procedures
• Support patient positioning, transport and intra-procedure needs to ensure safety and efficiency
• Accurately chart procedures and patient care in EPIC so the team stays informed
• Follow infection control and facility policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) to protect patients
• Be available for scheduled call shifts to help maintain unit coverage when needed
• Communicate proactively with surgeons, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech (OB/L&D experience preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius rule eligibility)
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and participating in occasional call coverage
• Willingness to comply with facility policies and orientation requirements (12 orientation hours listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and intraoperative instrumentation
• Familiarity with OB/L&D procedures and patient handling in labor and delivery settings
• Competence with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
• Ability to assist with basic nursing care tasks and support patient needs
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in fast-paced acute care
• Dependability for night-shift workflows and on-call responsiveness
