Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to students and staff during school hours
• Assess and triage acute and chronic health concerns, following clinical protocols
• Coordinate care with families, school staff, and community health resources
• Document encounters accurately in the medical record and maintain confidentiality
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policies
• Deliver health education and guidance to students and caregivers to promote wellness
• Participate in care planning, emergency response, and multidisciplinary meetings

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric/Advanced certifications a plus
• Previous experience in school health, pediatrics, or ambulatory nursing preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with students and families
• Ability to work independently in a per diem setting and manage multiple priorities
• Clear background check and any required immunizations/health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric assessment and common school-age health issues
• Skilled in medication administration, wound care, and emergency response
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care accurately
• Ability to educate and coach students, parents, and staff in an approachable way
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environments
