Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care overnight to ensure safety and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately during night shift
• Perform thorough resident assessments and document condition changes in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support care plans and transitions
• Support residents with activities of daily living and maintain a comfortable overnight environment
• Communicate clearly with day-shift staff to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and timely documentation

Qualifications

• Active Michigan LPN license listed as active on LARA and/or Nursys
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Long Term Care (LTC) experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year specific to LTC care (required)
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
• Candidates must provide a permanent address; facility will not consider local candidates within a 100-mile radius
• All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application; facility cannot approve post-offer scheduling changes

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN)
• Active Michigan LPN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong LTC clinical skills including medication administration and resident assessments
• Ability to manage common long term care conditions and respond to overnight changes
• Effective oral and written communication for clear shift handoffs
• Basic competency with electronic medical records and documentation
• Good time management and prioritization during 12-hour night shifts
• Team collaboration and respectful, resident-centered care approach
